Die Shop / Drawing

1. Do you manufacture your own tooling?

Die mould is outsourced to a foreign investment company.

2. What is your quality control procedure?

a. Upon receipt of die, die testing is done.
b. Extrude sample -> check dimensions and customer’s specifications/requirements
c. Submit sample together with approval sheet to customer for approval
d. Production run after customer’s approval.

3. What is the material used for die making?

Hotwork Steel – H13

4. Lead-time for drawing?

2 to 3 working days.

5. Lead-time for tooling after approval of drawing?

a. Drawing to be signed off as confirmation
b. Payment of die fabrication
c. For 5” & 7” die – 2 to 3 working weeks. For 10” die – 4 to 5 working weeks

6. Lead-time for sample?

1 working week upon receipt of die.

7. What is the maximum CCD? Largest profile that can be produced?

Hollow profile: 250mm x 120mm
Solid profile: 300mm x 100mm

Extrusion

1. How many press lines do you have?

We have 5 press lines:

  • 5” Press machine (3)
  • 7” Press machine (1)
  • 10” Press machine (1)

2. What is the longest length of aluminium extrusion you can supply?

7.5 metres length

3. What is your extrusion capacity?

1,500 MT / month

4. What alloys are available?

Commonly available: AA6063, AA6061, AA1070
Special alloy: AA6463, AA6082, AA6005, AA6101

5. What hardness (Webster) range can be done?

Temper 6063 6061
T1 / T4 < 4 -

6. What is the MOQ production order per profile?

5” die – 300kgs
7” die – 500kgs
10” die – 1,000kgs

8. Lead-time for production complete ready to ship after order placement?

Mill finish – 2 working weeks
Powder coating – Mill finish (+ availability of powder) + 1 working week
Anodised finish – Mill finish + 2 working weeks
Packing and loading for shipment – 1 week

Powder Coating

1. How many powder coating lines do you have?

We have two (2) powder coating lines.

2. What is the average micron thickness?

60 – 80 microns

3. What is your method of checking for proper adhesion?

Impact test, bending test and cross cut test.

4. What standards do your powder coated aluminium extrusions meet?

We work within the below guidelines:

  • AAMA 2603 – 10 years warranty
  • AAMA 2604 – 20 to 25 years warranty
  • AAMA 2605 – 30 years warranty

5. I need a specific colour for a project, can you manufacture it?

We can colour match based on your colour swatch or colour spec (RGB, RAL, Pantone)

Lead-time for colour matching – 1 working week
Lead-time for powder – 2 working weeks

6. What is the maximum size item you can powder coat?

  • Maximum profile width up to 0.35 metres
  • Maximum profile height up to 1.2 metres
  • Maximum length up to 7 metres

7. Lead time for production complete ready to ship after order placement?

Mill finish – 2 working weeks
Powder coating – Mill finish (+ availability of powder) + 1 working week
Packing and loading for shipment – 1 week

8. MOQ on powder coating?

a. Common solid colour – black or white or grey: no MOQ.
b. Powder not stocked by Superb/supplier – MOQ 100 to 200kgs per colour / order. Lead time: 2 weeks.
c. Imported powder – MOQ of 200kgs per colour order (that would be approx. for 10MT of material). Lead time: 4 weeks.

9. What brands of powder coating do you offer?

We are certified powder coating applicators for DGL (formerly known as Dulux), PPG, Interpon, Jotun, Axalta and Oxyplast.

3. Can you do thermally broken frames for windows/doors (shipping the assembled sets)?

This service is available.  Please advise the brand, model of the thermal break required.
